Privacy Policy
Last updated 29 September 2026
- The text you rewrite isn’t kept. It goes to Lyrmo’s AI provider to write the versions and explain the changes, and isn’t saved in Lyrmo’s database or logs.
- As little as possible is kept: your email address if you sign in, your custom tones, your plan, and daily credit usage for a week.
- No ads, no tracking, nothing sold. Lyrmo’s cookies only keep you signed in and count your free credits.
Who is responsible
Lyrmo is responsible for the personal data described here. Questions and requests go to [email protected].
What Lyrmo collects, and why
Your writing
When you ask for a rewrite, the text, the options you chose (tone, length, language, and any instruction), and the custom tone you chose, if any, are sent to OpenAI to write the four versions. When you open the Why view, the text, the version, and its changes are sent to explain them. Lyrmo asks OpenAI not to store any of it, and under its API policies it isn’t used to train OpenAI’s models; OpenAI may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse.
Lyrmo doesn’t save your text or its rewrites. Its logs record only how long a text was, which options were used, and how long the rewrite took, never the words themselves.
Your account
Signing in is optional. If you do, Lyrmo keeps your email address to identify your account and to send the sign-in emails you ask for. Each email has a link and a code that expire in 15 minutes; they’re stored only as one-way hashes. Signing in starts a session that lasts 30 days or until you sign out.
Your custom tones
If you’re signed in and make tones of your own (a name, how it should sound, preferred terms, words to avoid, and notes), they’re kept with your account so you can rewrite in them, until you change or delete them.
Credit usage
To apply daily credit allowances, Lyrmo counts the credits spent on text, dictation, and speech each day: for your account if you’re signed in, and otherwise for your browser (by a random ID in a cookie) and for your network (by its IP address, or for IPv6 the first half of it). These counts are deleted after 7 days. When you sign in, today’s count for your browser moves to your account.
Payments
Subscriptions are sold through Paddle (Paddle.com), Lyrmo’s reseller and merchant of record, which handles your payment details, billing address, invoices, and sales tax; Lyrmo never sees your card number, which you change on Paddle’s own page. Lyrmo keeps your Paddle customer ID and your subscription’s plan, billing period, status, and renewal date. When you open your billing details, your recent payments and invoices are fetched from Paddle to show you, and aren’t kept.
Security and server logs
Like most websites, Lyrmo’s servers log requests (such as the time, the address requested, and your IP address) to keep the service secure and working, and hold IP addresses in memory for a short time to limit how often requests can be made. These logs never contain your text, and are kept only as long as they’re needed for those purposes.
Cookies and browser storage
| Name | What it’s for | How long |
|---|---|---|
ly_session |
Keeps you signed in | 30 days, or until you sign out |
ly_visitor |
A random ID that counts free credits without an account | 1 year |
| Browser storage | Remembers the tone, length, and language you chose, in your browser only | Until you clear it |
All of them are needed for Lyrmo to work. Lyrmo doesn’t use analytics or advertising cookies.
Who data is shared with
Personal data is shared only with the services that run Lyrmo:
- OpenAI, to write rewrites and explain changes.
- Paddle, Lyrmo’s reseller and merchant of record, to take payments, handle sales tax, and manage subscriptions. For the payments it takes, Paddle is responsible for your data under its own privacy policy.
- Resend, to deliver sign-in emails.
- The hosting provider that runs Lyrmo’s servers and database.
Some of them are in the United States and other countries, so your data may be processed outside your own, under safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Lyrmo doesn’t sell or rent personal data, and discloses it to others only when the law requires it.
How long data is kept
- Your text and its rewrites: not kept.
- Sign-in links and codes: 15 minutes.
- Sessions: 30 days, or until you sign out.
- Credit usage: 7 days.
- Your email address, custom tones, and subscription details: while you have an account. Payment records may be kept longer where tax law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and everything linked to it, by writing to [email protected]. You can sign out at any time and clear Lyrmo’s cookies in your browser. Lyrmo only emails you when you ask to sign in: no newsletters or marketing.
If you’re in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Lyrmo relies on these legal bases: providing the service you asked for (your writing, account, custom tones, and subscription), legitimate interests in keeping Lyrmo secure and its free allowance fair (logs, rate limits, and credit usage), and legal obligations (payment records). You can also object to processing, ask for it to be restricted, and complain to your data protection authority.
Security
Lyrmo is served over HTTPS. Session cookies can’t be read by scripts on the page, sign-in links, codes, and sessions are stored only as hashes, and access to Lyrmo’s systems is limited to the people who run them.
Children
Lyrmo isn’t meant for children under 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area, and doesn’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top is updated. If a change affects how data you’ve already given is used, the site will say so first.
